Know what to check next.

Start with the status shown by ToneKeys. Public support intake will be announced with the release.

Why is control unavailable?

Check the message in ToneKeys. A valid local license, keyboard capture, a matching connected plugin and an editable Lightroom target are all required. Socket connection alone does not mean the first key is ready.

Why did a shortcut do something else in Lightroom?

When ToneKeys cannot safely adjust the target, it may pass the key through. Lightroom can then perform its own shortcut or edit selected text. Leave text fields and unsupported contexts before expecting a ToneKeys adjustment.

Can I use a single key that Lightroom already uses?

Yes. Record the single key in Settings and review the known Lightroom shortcut notice. Apply and override lets ToneKeys take priority when it accepts the key. Pausing ToneKeys or editing a text field gives Lightroom its original input behavior. The notice does not detect every system shortcut, custom mapping or other plugin.

What should I do after an uncertain adjustment?

Inspect the photograph and displayed value before repeating the shortcut. A timeout does not prove that no adjustment happened. ToneKeys does not automatically repeat an uncertain incremental adjustment.

Do I need to restart after editing shortcuts?

Settings, the visual keyboard and the Cheatsheet share one profile. Apply publishes a saved change without an App restart. Import, Undo, Redo and layout changes use the same profile.

Does perpetual use expire with update coverage?

No. Perpetual use of eligible versions is separate from update coverage. The planned perpetual purchase includes 24 calendar months of updates; later update options are shown in an eligible existing account.

Can I use ToneKeys offline?

The App checks a locally stored, signed certificate. A certificate can carry a fixed offline deadline; reconnecting or restarting does not automatically extend it. Final production offline terms are still being reviewed.

Are my registered devices currently connected?

The account page shows server registration records and device slots. It does not monitor whether those Macs are online or able to control Lightroom at this moment.

What is useful in a support report?

Record the ToneKeys version, macOS and Lightroom versions, the status message and the steps that led to the issue. Review and redact logs before sharing them. Do not include passwords, activation credentials, catalog paths or photographs unless a specific support request requires them.
